If you’ve recently placed your faith in Jesus, that is the beginning of a new life with God. Use this a guide for building strong habits that help you grow in faith, joy, and relationship with Jesus.
next steps...
Get a Bible (A study bible is helpful to explain what you are reading)
Read the Bible consistently. Start with the Gospel of John to begin learning Jesus’ life and teaching.
Pray…Talk to God every day. (Matthew 6:9) Acknowledge Who He is, Thank Him, Forgive, Ask for Help and Protection, Forgive, and be honest about what you’re feeling and facing.
Join a Bible-believing church. Worship, teaching, and community help your faith take root.
Get baptized (if you haven’t yet). After receiving Christ as your Savior get Baptized as a public step of obedience that identifies you with Jesus.
Do what you already know to do. Obedience strengthens faith (forgiving others, telling the truth, living with integrity, turning from sin).
Build friendships with other believers. Find a small group or Bible study where you can ask questions and be encouraged.
Confess sin quickly and receive God’s forgiveness. When you fail, turn back to God—don’t hide. He forgives and helps you grow.
Learn the basics of the faith. Ask someone to help you understand salvation, grace, repentance, the Holy Spirit, and how to read Scripture.
Serve others. Look for simple ways to help at church or in the community to care for people—faith grows through practice.
Share your story. You don’t need all the answers. Tell others what Jesus has done in your life and invite them to learn more.
